On computation of optimal strategies in oligopolistic markets respecting the cost of change

    Get PDF
The paper deals with a class of parameterized equilibrium problems, where the objectives of the players do possess nonsmooth terms. The respective Nash equilibria can be characterized via a parameter-dependent variational inequality of the second kind, whose Lipschitzian stability, under appropriate conditions, is established. This theory is then applied to evolution of an oligopolistic market in which the firms adapt their production strategies to changing input costs, while each change of the production is associated with some “costs of change”. We examine both the Cournot-Nash equilibria as well as the two-level case, when one firm decides to take over the role of the Leader (Stackelberg equilibrium). The impact of costs of change is illustrated by academic examples. © 2020, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature

OUTRATA, J. Lis na ovoce: Bakalářská práce. Ostrava: VŠB – Technická univerzita Ostrava, Fakulta strojní, Katedra výrobních strojů a konstruování, 2018, Vedoucí práce: Hapla, T. Cílem této bakalářské práce je konstrukční návrh zařízení, které bude schopno drtit a lisovat ovoce za účelem získat šťávu z použitých plodin (jablka, hrušky, hrozny atp.). Lis zajistí extrakci tekutiny z lisovaného produktu a její odvod. V první, teoretické části práce, se zabývám rozličnými druhy lisů. Tyto výrobky jsou již na trhu a každý má jiné přednosti. Druhá, praktická část, je zaměřena na celkové konstrukční návrhy a výpočty. Výkresová dokumentace je zvlášť přiložena k práci.OUTRATA, J. Device for Cargo Unloading from Transportation Container: Bachelor thesis. Ostrava: VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Production Machines and Design, 2018 Supervisor: Hapla, T. The aim of this work is the structural design of a device that will be able to crush and press fruits in order to obtain juice from used crops. For example apples, pears, grapes etc. The press ensures extraction of the fluid from the molded product and its drain. In the first, theoretical part, I deal with various types of presses. These products are already on the market and each has other advantages. The second, practical part is focused on overall design and calculations. Drawing documentation is particularly included in the thesis.340 - Katedra výrobních strojů a konstruovánídobř

On the application of the SCD semismooth* newton method to variational inequalities of the second kind

The paper starts with a description of SCD (subspace containing derivative) mappings and the SCD Newton method for the solution of general inclusions. This method is then applied to a class of variational inequalities of the second kind. As a result, one obtains an implementable algorithm which exhibits locally superlinear convergence. Thereafter we suggest several globally convergent hybrid algorithms in which one combines the SCD Newton method with selected splitting algorithms for the solution of monotone variational inequalities. Finally, we demonstrate the efficiency of one of these methods via a Cournot-Nash equilibrium, modeled as a variational inequality of the second kind, where one admits really large numbers of players (firms) and produced commodities. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V

    Between ceramics and sculpture

Already fom early ages of mankind ceramics has a purpose of making life easier for people. As mankind evolved, so did its needs and ceramics evolved an infinite number of forms. With its origin in the practical aspect it suggests its usefulness and therefore the word ceramics still evokes to memory a pot, a functional ceramics, which we deal with the most. A functional pot is the beginning and basis of ceramics. A simple pot evolves into combined and further into an even more complex one. A hand-free design is joined by other manufactoring techniques, pressing and casting into a mould, wheel throwing technique. The surface is becoming increasingly important. With the use of color glazes the ceramics is becoming painting, with the addition of modeled applications it is slipping into sculpting until it prevails over the pot. The pot becomes useless, it becomes a sculpture. Finally, a ceramic sculpture becomes self-referential. It represents (thinks) itself, it explores options and requirements of the material and technological procedures it is made of

Abstract. An important problem in applications of formal concept analysis is a possibly large number of clusters extracted from data. Factorization is one of the methods being used to cope with the number of clusters. We present an algorithm for computing a factor lattice of a concept lattice from the data and a user-specified similarity threshold a. The elements of the factor lattice are collections of clusters which are pairwise similar in degree at least a. The presented algorithm computes the factor lattice directly from the data, without first computing the whole concept lattice and then computing the collections of clusters. We present theoretical insight and examples for demonstration, and an open problem
